Experience, artistry, athleticism and a flair for showmanship make skaters Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman the U.S. figure skating pair to watch. She is the city girl who grew up in New York City, while John is the country boy from Birmingham, AL. They come from different worlds off the ice, but on the ice they have proven to be one of the best skating pairs in the world.

The pair has earned three U.S. Championship titles and delivered a flawless performance at the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, placing them fifth in the world. Following the Olympics in March 2002, they realized their greatest achievement at the World Figure Skating Championships in Nagano, Japan, winning the World bronze medal. It was the first World medal won by a U.S. pair since 1998.

Ina and Zimmerman have developed a close association with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Together they donate their time to work with children faced with life-threatening illnesses. In the November/December 2001 issue of International Figure Skating Magazine, they were named as two of the 10 most beautiful people in skating. They have modeled apparel for Capezio and represented Bank of America in a print advertising campaign.

Zimmerman enjoys skiing, rock climbing, in-line skating and rooting for University of Alabama sports teams. He married Italian figure skating champion Silvia Fontana in 2003 in Rome, Italy. He was featured in the 2003 Barneys New York spring catalogue and other fashion publications, and in March 2004, he was the first athlete featured on the cable series ?Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.?
