AOC: Voting is now closed! Let's see who will be the third Comptroller.

First, let's check voter turnout and invalid ballots:

      Spoiler:
    Total Turnout: 753
    Invalid Ballots: 0
    Valid Ballots: 753

So far, so good! Everyone who chose to vote did so correctly.

Next, let's view the election results. In instant-runoff voting, the goal is to attain a majority (50% + 1 vote). For this election, it takes 377 ballots to win. In the event we do not have a first round majority, the candidate(s) with the fewest votes will be eliminated and those ballots will be distributed to the next available choice on their ranking.

    Round #1:

      Spoiler:
    Votes Percent Result
    Margaery 750 99.60
    Joyce 3 0.40

Margaery has increased her share of the vote from last round's paltry 98.8% to a much more impressive 99.6%, retaining her position as Comptroller!

As a reminder, here is the public portion of the winning Comptroller's budget:

      Spoiler:
    Margaery
    chazevanson Audra 772
    Meh Carol 772
    isaiah Joseline 772
    betinez Joyce 772
    VULpicks. Kristen 772
    LaQua Margaery 784
    jjohns6095 Olivia 772
    eagle2ch Tahani 772

Of course, in addition to this public budget, hidden accounts have also been distributed according to Margaery's wishes.

Next, we will check if anyone has violated the Antitrust Clause. The total active wealth—the number of ballots held by non-eliminated players—is currently 20606. Players holding a majority of the ballots (50% + one) will be held in violation of this clause and face re-distribution of their ballots. In this case, the magic number is 10304 ballots.

Is anyone in violation of the Antitrust Clause?

      Spoiler:
    NO.

Up next, I will send you a private message with your current ballot count, and we will proceed to our third elimination.

AOC: Austerity has arrived! Someone is going home after this 24 hour period. Of course, one of you has seemingly never left home in the first place. Anyway, I've just finished updating you on your current ballot counts.

Elimination ballots work very similarly to the Comptroller election. The main difference is that the person at the top of your ranking is now who you most want eliminated and the bottom is who you least want eliminated.

Valid rankings must include all 8 players—yourself included. I will not alert you to invalid ballots.

You can use as few or as many of your ballots as you like. Note that any unspent ballots will be retained for the next round... assuming you aren't eliminated, of course.

The elimination will be determined based on an instant-runoff vote using the valid ballots. If a majority has not been reached, the players with the fewest votes are spared and those votes go to the next available player on the ballot's ranking. This process repeats as needed until a true majority (50% plus one ballot) is attained. That player will be eliminated.

You have 24 hours. Good luck!

AOC: Voting is now closed! Let's see who will be the third player eliminated.

First, let's check voter turnout and invalid ballots:

      Spoiler:
    Total Turnout: 2544
    Invalid Ballots: 0
    Valid Ballots: 2544

Everyone who chose to vote did so correctly.

Next, let's view the election results. In instant-runoff voting, the goal is to attain a majority (50% + 1 vote). For this election, it takes 1273 ballots to win. Of course... "winning" will get you eliminated. In the event we do not have a first round majority, the candidate(s) with the fewest votes will be spared and those ballots will be distributed to the next available choice on their ranking.

    Round #1:

      Spoiler:
    Votes Percent Result
    Audra 1393 54.76
    Margaery 772 30.35
    Olivia 379 14.9
    Carol 0 0
    Joseline 0 0
    Joyce 0 0
    Kristen 0 0
    Tahani 0 0

Receiving a clear majority of 54.76%, Audra has been eliminated at the first round of balloting.

OOC: Sorry to see you go, chazevanson! You had an interesting few rounds in the game, starting with the craziness of round one. Unfortunately, your efforts didn't save you here. Thanks for playing, I hope you had fun!

AOC: The game continues! First off, let's see the yearly revenue. There are currently 20769 Ballots in the game's economy. With seven players still in the game, the mandatory minimum is 4200.

    • Total Round #4 Revenue: +15576
    • Public Funds: 9346
    • Hidden Accounts: 6230

I will now contact each of you privately with the opportunity to run for Comptroller. If you decline, you do not have to formulate a budget. However, if you decide to run, you must also produce a valid budget, allocating 9346 in public funds, and 6230 in hidden accounts. Note that if you attempt to run but submit an invalid budget, you will not be eligible to stand for election as Comptroller. Just as a reminder, you do have the option of allocating hidden account funds to eliminated players.

You have 24 hours to submit your Comptroller decision and budget plan (if applicable). Please let me know if you have any questions. Otherwise, good luck!

AOC: Let's see the results of the fourth Budget Creation. First, who has decided to run for Comptroller?

    Meh Carol Not Running
    isaiah Joseline Not Running
    betinez Joyce Running
    VULpicks. Kristen Not Running
    LaQua Margaery Running
    jjohns6095 Olivia Not Running
    eagle2ch Tahani Running

It looks like you have three budgets to choose from. Let's see the public portions of the budgets you will be voting on:

    Joyce Margaery Tahani
    Meh Carol 1335 1335 1300
    isaiah Joseline 1335 1335 1300
    betinez Joyce 1336 1335 1300
    VULpicks. Kristen 1335 1335 1300
    LaQua Margaery 1335 1336 1300
    jjohns6095 Olivia 1335 1335 1300
    eagle2ch Tahani 1335 1335 1546

Each budget is in a column.

You now have 24 hours to submit ballots for the Comptroller Election. The winning Comptroller's budget will go into effect—both the public funds AND hidden accounts. So while you should use the publicly available information to decide which budget(s) to support, you may also need to do some digging to figure out what the Comptroller candidates might have done in secret.

To submit a valid ranking for these budgets, you must rank them from 1 (the budget you most want to see enacted) to 3 (the budget you least want to see enacted). I will not alert you to incorrectly cast ballots; these ballots will be discarded at the beginning of the election results.

There is no limit to how few ballots you cast. If you would like to abstain, simply reply to the PM saying you are not spending ballots.

You can use as many of your ballots as you want for this election. If desired, you can also submit ballots with different rankings.

The winning Comptroller will be determined by instant-runoff voting, as described in the first post.

    Good luck!

AOC: Voting is now closed! Let's see who will be the fourth Comptroller.

First, let's check voter turnout and invalid ballots:

      Spoiler:
    Total Turnout: 0
    Invalid Ballots: 0
    Valid Ballots: 0

    ....uh oh!

      Spoiler:

No ballots were cast in this election, which means we have a 0-0-0 tie. As per the rules under "Unusual Circumstances," you have caused a Budget Crisis to take place!

In a Budget Crisis, all tied budgets take effect at the same time. In other words, we have three Comptrollers, and three full budgets' worth of ballots are about to be distributed.

To put this in some perspective, we started this round with 20769 Ballots in the total economy.

Now? There are 67497. That's a 226% inflation rate for this round.

    Great job, America!

As a reminder, here is the public portion of the winning Comptrollers' budgets:

      Spoiler:
    Joyce Margaery Tahani
    Meh Carol 1335 1335 1300
    isaiah Joseline 1335 1335 1300
    betinez Joyce 1336 1335 1300
    VULpicks. Kristen 1335 1335 1300
    LaQua Margaery 1335 1336 1300
    jjohns6095 Olivia 1335 1335 1300
    eagle2ch Tahani 1335 1335 1546

Having three budgets take effect at once might sound beneficial, but there are now also three budgets' worth of Hidden Accounts taking effect as well. And who knows what's in those? Well, the three Comptrollers do. And these accounts will be distributed according to their wishes.

Next, we will check if anyone has violated the Antitrust Clause. The total active wealth—the number of ballots held by non-eliminated players—is currently 64790. Players holding a majority of the ballots (50% + one) will be held in violation of this clause and face re-distribution of their ballots. In this case, the magic number is 32396 ballots. It would certainly be shocking if someone has obtained more ballots that the entire economy held at the start of the round, wouldn't it? Let's see if that happened.

Is anyone in violation of the Antitrust Clause?

      Spoiler:
    NO.

Up next, I will send you a private message with your current ballot count, and we will proceed to our fourth elimination.

AOC: Voting is now closed! Let's see who will be the fourth player eliminated.

First, let's check voter turnout and invalid ballots:

      Spoiler:
    Total Turnout: 9739
    Invalid Ballots: 0
    Valid Ballots: 9739

Not surprisingly, inflation has caused turnout to rise dramatically over the previous round.

Next, let's view the election results. In instant-runoff voting, the goal is to attain a majority (50% + 1 vote). For this election, it takes 4870 ballots to win. Of course... "winning" will get you eliminated. In the event we do not have a first round majority, the candidate(s) with the fewest votes will be spared and those ballots will be distributed to the next available choice on their ranking.

    Round #1:

      Spoiler:
    Votes Percent Result
    Margaery 4500 46.21
    Kristen 3139 32.23
    Tahani 2100 21.56
    Carol 0 0
    Joseline 0 0
    Joyce 0 0
    Olivia 0 0

A majority has not been reached. In the event that a majority is not reached on the first ballot, the lowest candidate(s) are removed, and any votes cast against them are redistributed to the next available choice on those ballots.

As you can see, Carol, Joseline, Joyce, and Olivia each received no votes. Those players are all safe.

Of the remaining three, Tahani received the fewest votes. Votes against Tahani will be redistributed to the next available choice on those ballots, which could all be for Kristen, all for Margaery, or a mixture of both. As only two candidates remain, the next round will be conclusive.

    Round 2:

      Spoiler:
    Votes Percent Result
    Margaery 6610 67.87
    Kristen 3139 32.23

Receiving a decisive majority of 67.87%, Margaery has been eliminated at the second round of balloting.

OOC: Sorry to see you go, LaQua! I'm shocked. I thought you'd be in it for the long haul, but as the results showed, far too few ballots favorable to you were cast at this elimination. Thanks so much for playing, I hope you enjoyed your time here.

AOC: Voting is now closed! Let's see who will be the fifth Comptroller.

First, let's check voter turnout and invalid ballots:

      Spoiler:
    Total Turnout: 12200
    Invalid Ballots: 0
    Valid Ballots: 12200

So far, so good! Everyone who chose to vote did so correctly.

Next, let's view the election results. In instant-runoff voting, the goal is to attain a majority (50% + 1 vote). For this election, it takes 6101 ballots to win. In the event we do not have a first round majority, the candidate(s) with the fewest votes will be eliminated and those ballots will be distributed to the next available choice on their ranking.

    Round #1:

      Spoiler:
    Votes Percent Result
    Joseline 12200 100.00
    Joyce 0 0
    Kristen 0 0
    Tahani 0 0

In a unanimous decision, Joseline has become the Comptroller. Congratulations!

As a reminder, here is the public portion of the winning Comptroller's budget:

      Spoiler:
    Joseline
    Meh Carol 4332
    isaiah Joseline 4331
    betinez Joyce 4332
    VULpicks. Kristen 4332
    jjohns6095 Olivia 4332
    eagle2ch Tahani 4332

Of course, in addition to this public budget, hidden accounts have also been distributed according to Joseline's wishes.

Next, we will check if anyone has violated the Antitrust Clause. The total active wealth—the number of ballots held by non-eliminated players—is currently 75170. Players holding a majority of the ballots (50% + one) will be held in violation of this clause and face re-distribution of their ballots. In this case, the magic number is 37586 ballots.

Is anyone in violation of the Antitrust Clause?

      Spoiler:
    NO.

Up next, I will send you a private message with your current ballot count, and we will proceed to our fifth elimination.
