Just so you all know, I've decided to put everyone up for elimination except the immune - this week was more of a trial and I like it better the other way. Just so you all know so there are no complaints.

Welcome to your first judging.

It's been a tough beginning of the competition, but you've all made it through relatively unscathed, and now it's time to show the judges what you've got. On the panel, we have Liya Kebede, renowned Ethiopian supermodel, Alek Wek, beautiful naturalistic superstar and Noemie Lenoir, mixed-race swimsuit beauty. And of course, me, Oluchi Onweagba!

This week, you first took a walk down the runway dressed in summer clothing, and Chanel impressed the public with her golden attire, while Clara struggled to gain support. Your photoshoot revolved around surrealism, things you wouldn't see everyday. Breaking out of her challenge failure, Clara dominated the voting, winning herself quite a reputation to live up to for the judges.

Let's take a look at your pictures!

Chanel

Liya: This is a little too safe for the theme, but not horrible. You look nice, but it's not surreal at all. You're like a stripper with clothes on - and that ain't surreal. (5/10)

Noemie: I love the angles of your body and the way you worked this pose. You made a safe wardrobe and setting seem more "out there" with your brilliant pose. (9/10)

Alek: It's nice, it looks like it could be an ad, but that's just me. It would be even better with a little eye-connection? No? (8.5/10)

Oluchi: I do like this picture, but it isn't terribly surreal. If this had been a 'future jobs' picture, then it would've fit better, despite being a very naughty girl! However, you definitely look gorgeous, but try and adapt more to the assignment. I also have to commend you on your great booty snap pose. (6.5/10)

Next is Wakeema!

Liya: This is a beautiful high fashion picture...BUT I can't see your face, it really isn't surreal at all, nothing about it is really interesting. I expected more from you. (3/10)

Noemie: Although you used a more simple approach, I think you did a decent job at the theme. Your hair looks amazing and the pose is incredible. (9/10)

Alek: Wakeema, Wakeema, Wakeema. I love this, I don't know why .... I can't put my finger on it. I like it even with the shadows, the shadows work in this one! (7.5/10)

Oluchi: Gorgeous. I may not be able to see your face, but the rest of the photo makes up for it. Your body is fantastic. This again, isn't really too surreal, but the shadows kinda add to that element. (8.5/10)

Next up, Ana Bela!

Liya: Ew, this is very boring and just blah. Your face is basically dead and there is nothing interesting about this picture. (2/10)

Noemie: I see where you were going with this. The setting and the wardrobe is something different, but the pose and the face are incredibly boring. Next time, try to stretch yourself a little more outside the box. (7/10)

Alek: It's good, and basically that's it. You should have stepped outside the box. I don't see very much crazy. (5/10)

Oluchi: I don't see anything surreal or crazy about this photo. The clothes are interesting enough, but not enough to warrant surrealism. It would be a lot better if you had done more with your face and body. You especially should work on softening your face. (4/10)

Next is Sosheba!

Liya: This isn't surreal or high fashion - maybe tacky couture. Accesories are nice but overall sucky. Not crazy about this girl. Better work it out next time - if you survive. (2/10)

Noemie: This is an interesting pose, but I wish it was from a different angle. I can't see you well and it seems awkward to me. I do think you had the right idea though. (8/10)

Alek: Finally! SOMETHING DIFFERENT. An action shot, I wish I could see more of your face though. Not a crazy setting/makeup/outfit though. (6/10)

Oluchi: I don't hate this one. You look nice, and your pose is nice. But everything is nice, and unlike your challenge picture, you don't stand out. I'm also a little disappointed in your picture choice, because I have seen better ones in your portfolio. (6.5/10)

Next is Clara!

Liya: Well, I guess this could fall in the surreal category. But, your face looks horrible - not great. Setting was nice, but YOU killed it. (5/10)

Noemie: This is GORGEOUS! It is so surreal, I've had to stare at it for a long time to even attempt to figure out what's going on. You followed the theme well and you look simply stunning. (10/10)

Alek: Its alright, though it looks like the train is going to run into your vajayjay and you look greasy. The thing I like about it though is that you listened, 'We don't want to see safe, boring poses and uninteresting settings and outfits.' In that case, good job, really good. (6/10)

Oluchi: Purrfect. This is definitely the most surreal of the bunch, and you worked it out. I have studied this, and I still have no idea what's going on. I heart those domes in the background. They make me happy. You make me happy, how 'bout? Nice recovery from the challenge. (10/10)

The next girl is Kinee!

Liya: Finally! Some surrealness that's fierce! You look amazing here doll and you have paint on your face, but unlike Jordan, you made it different and high fashion. Best of the week. (10/10)

Noemie: You definitely went all out with your styling. The only thing I would want to see is a wider shot so more of a pose and a background could be seen. Overall, a strong photo though. (9/10)

Alek: OK, I wish I could see your eyes. There are alot of shadows. It's a good shot according to the rules, but I wish I could see more of YOU. (7/10)

Oluchi: I really like this one. Yes, it follows the rules, and that's what I love about it. You followed my instructions, and that counts a LOT in this industry. That aside, it's a great photo and you look gorgeous. (9.5/10)

Next up is Jordan!

Liya: How is this surreal? You just have paint all over your face and body. This doesn't really fit the theme in my view, and you don't look amazing, to be honest. (4/10)

Noemie: You are gorgeous, but this doesn't meet the theme to me. The pose is very commercial and that makes the whole photo look commercial, regardless of the wardrobe you use. (6/10)

Alek: Crazy make-up! I like how the shoes, your outfit, and the make-up all pull together and compliment each other. (6/10)

Oluchi: I don't mind this photo, but it isn't really very extreme. Your face is absolutely beautiful, but it seems too commercial to be surreal. Not terrible, but like Sosheba, you just don't stand out. (5.5/10)

Next is Atong!

Liya: Well, you tried - but meh, I'm not loving this. The hair and styling is cool, but not on you because it looks like it's too much. The angle is bad for your face, also. (4/10)

Noemie: I love this. It has a very surreal, abstract feeling. Definitely not safe or boring. I love the movement. Great job! (9.5/10)

Alek: GOOD JOB! High fashion hair, make-up, clothes. Although I wish I could see more of you. (8/10)

Oluchi: I really like this. The movement is nice, and your face looks very pretty. The flurry of colours is very dynamic and sets you apart from the others. Good work. (8/10)

Next is Sammy Jo!

Liya: How is this surreal?! You look fierce and it's not horrible, but this is not surreal. Y'all girls need a dictionary. But props for this being a high fashion picture. (5/10)

Noemie: While I think this is a nice photo, I don't think it meets the theme well. You went with safe and uncreative instead of wild and bold. (6/10)

Alek: This doesn't scream HIGHFASHIONCRAZYPICTURE or anything, it looks like a GOOD normal shot. I like the intensity of your stare though, and I think you could have worked that long hair better. (5/10)

Oluchi: This is mediocre, even in comparison with some of the lackluster pictures this week. You are definitely, in my opinion, one of the two most naturally beautiful girls here. You're radiant. This photo is gorgeous, and I love the face and the way you're working the hair. However, like so many others, I have to ask, did you even read what was asked? Not bad, but not what I expected from you. (6/10)

Last but certainly not least is Honorine!

Liya: I guess this could be categorized as surreal. Your face looks cute and the setting is cool. I like this, not bad compared to some of these other pictures. (8/10)

Noemie: I don't like that I can't see you very well in this picture, but the fact that it is very visually pleasing makes up for that. The vivid colors really give an artistic vibe which suits this theme perfectly. (10/10)

Alek: I can barely see your pretty face, you have amazing legs here, but no neck. Overall its an OK shot. (6/10)

Oluchi: Amazing. Not quite as good as Clara's, but it's not far off. You look so happy, beautiful and radiant, and this definitely fits the theme. The colours you used are complimentary to you, and they also fit the theme perfectly. Great work, I'm looking forward to seeing more of it. (9.5/10)

Sosheba, congratulations. Not so good this week, despite a good response to your challenge. Work harder to get to the top.

Sammy Jo, congratulations. I expected you to perform better than you did, but the public likes you, and I see a model. I just need to see it translated into photographs now.

The two of you did NOT impress anybody this week. One of you had a weak challenge and photoshoot. The other decided that going commercial in a high-fashion, quirky shoot was a good idea. Neither of you listened to direction.

Challenge 2 : Simple Suffices



This week's challenge is simple. We want to test your natural and unique beauty with a simple black and white beauty shot. It doesn't have to be fierce, it doesn't have to be edgy and it doesn't have to be high fashion. It just needs to show off how beautiful you really are. This is a big challenge, because close-up shots often assist largely in other's forming opinions of you.
